SEO friendly directory
One way to get quality links back to your website is by submitting your website to web directory. The most popular human edited directory is dmoz.org. I was able to get one of my websites listed in that directory long time ago.
But as of today, it is so hard for your website to get listed there. Your website will sit on the queue forever if you send your website at dmoz.
Another popular directory is yahoo directory.
Anyway, you can still send to other free/paid directories available today. You can get long list of SEO friendly directory list and start submitting your website to the directory.
If you do not have time (but have money) you can pay other people to submit your website to the directory for a fee. Just search directory submission service in google for list of service.
